For UFC Freedom 250, Paramount+ turned Alex Pereira’s quest for a third belt intoa story about what happens when reaching the top isn’t enough.
Sports became the new streaming battlefield.
Today, every platform promises the biggest leagues, the biggest athletes, and the biggest live events. It was in this scenario that the UFC arrived exclusively on Paramount+.
But along with it came a challenge:
how could we prove to sports fans that Paramount+ wasn’t just “adding another sport to the catalog”?
How could we show that we truly understand sports — and respect what they mean to fans?
INSIGHT
Sports fans don’t judge a platform by whether it owns the rights.
They judge it by how seriously it treats the game.
For Paramount+, sports can’t feel like another piece of content.
It has to feel like the main event.
That’s why sports sit at the top of our mountain.
IDEA
To bring this idea of “the top” to life, we chose one of the most historic moments in UFC history: Freedom 250, held at the White House during the celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence.
At the center of it all was Alex Pereira attempting something no fighter had ever achieved before: winning a third UFC belt in a third weight division.
So we turned his journey into a cinematic metaphor.
Instead of simply showing a fight, we created a film where Poatan climbs a mountain once again. A symbol of everything that defines his journey: sacrifice, obsession, and the inability to stop.
Because for Poatan, the top was never the end.
It was only the beginning of the next climb.
